Course Summary

Native American Health Scholars Program

The Native American Healthcare Scholars Program (NAHSP) provides intensive and regular support, mentoring, and career-development/awareness-building activities for a select group of Junior and Senior high school students enrolled at Red Cloud Indian School and the Wagner Community School. The students are chosen through a rigorous process whose selection criteria include demonstrated high academic ability, interest in pursuing a career in medicine /healthcare, and consideration of personal qualities/values required of someone wishing to pursue a career in healthcare.

The goal of the Native American Healthcare Scholars Program is to increase the number of American Indian healthcare professionals through early identification of qualified American Indian high school students who demonstrate the academic skills, personal motivation and interest and excitement regarding pursuit of a career in one of the healthcare professions.

Courses for the Native American Health Scholars Program will be coming soon.
